Purchasing Information

There are many factors to consider when determining the prices and processes involved in building, shipping, and installing each TreeBed
TM. Please answer all of these questions to the best of your ability.
*Who referred you? *We would like to know how you found out about us.
1-Indoors or Outdoors?
The price varies dramatically because of the quality of the finished product and the possible need for a roof. (Your mattress will need protecting.)
2-Permanent or Temporary?
Each time the TreeBedTM is moved, much knowledge and care must be involved, in addition to either our team or one you have gathered. (Of course, we prefer to do this ourselves in order to assure the TreeBedTM retains as much of its original quality as possible.)
3-Are you purchasing a TreeBedTM that we have already made or having one customized? Please remember that some TreeBedsTM will not fit into some spaces. You will need to know if it can turn corners, go up stairs, and fit through other tight spaces other than its final destination. *Each piece is handmade to best match each client's purchasing specifications.
4-Are you purchasing more than one(1) TreeBedTM at this time? If so, how many? Will they need to be different or similar?
5-Please circle if you are purchasing:
alone
in a group
as a member
6-Chain or Metal Rope? The price varies significantly depending upon what style you choose, political/economic state (which fluctuates the prices of metal), and any shipping needs.
7-What about motion sickeness?
You may be surprised to learn that most people who say they get motion sickness actually find the swing of a TreeBedTM quite pleasant. Even so, we can calibrate the swing to some extent...especially if you speak with us about this concern BEFORE we build/install your TreeBedTM. Otherwise, you can conctact us about the need to calibrate the movement, and we can try to talk you through the process. Remember that every TreeBedTM is one-of-a-kind, so each one may have a slightly different swing and may require an individualized calibration process.
8-Wood, Metal, or Columns? These are common load-bearing materials we can use. You determine what style.
9-Your Materials or Ours? We may be able to change your materials into something we can use. We may also need to make irreversible changes to your materials, such as modifying the legs of your old bed. Should you decide to have us transform your old bed into a TreeBedTM, we will need an estimate of the maximum weight and size/dimensions of the bed you will have us use, as well as the bed material (i.e. brass, iron, wood...)
10-Indoor/Spatial Dimensions and Specifications? Please give us accurate measurements in feet and inches, as well as in total inches,of the space in which you will have your TreeBedTM. Please draw a diagram of the space, along with any irregularities in the shape of the floor, ceiling, and walls, such as fans, vaulted ceiling areas, and bay windows. If outdoors, we also need to know a full description of the terrain, including the type of ground (i.e. dirt, grass, concrete, stone, wood) and anything about it being uneven or having places that may flood. Also, if you will be using an overhang as a roof for your TreeBedTM, we need to know the maximum height that will fit under the overhang. Please take into account any doorways, stairways, tight turns and passages, etc., when deciding what will navigate safely through your space.
11-Roof? Unless you enjoy the idea of taking inside or covering up your mattress each evening, you will need a roof or overhang.
12Tree Parts or Boards?
We recommend the TreeBedTM be made of tree parts instead of boards because of the natural beauty and one-of-a-kind quality. Boards will also increase the price.
13-Bark Left On or Taken Off? Some trees drop their bark when dry. Many green trees’ bark can be preserved more easily. The price is especially reflective of the labor involved with this process.
14-Mixed Mediums? (i.e. wood with metal, columns with wood) These processes set a higher value for TreeBedsTM.
15-Visual Divisions? (i.e. curtains/draperies, japanese walls) We will need to know if you want us to find these for you.
16-Implements for Hanging Visual Divisions? (i.e. curtain rods, handmade metal hangers, etc.)
17-Maximum Height of TreeBedTM? You may not want your TreeBedTM to go all the way to your ceiling.
18-Mattress Size? We prefer to make TreeBedsTM to fit sizes queen and up, but many TreeBedsTM can be modified to fit other size mattresses. *We can also make frames to accomodate odd size mattresses.
19-Finishing Appearances? Natural, stained, or painted wood, powder coating/other metal finishes, aged or crackled effects are also available, among others.
20-Ornamentality?
(i.e. lamps, metal/wood joinings, true wooden pegs, old world style, curtain rod/rod hanger styles, personalizing details) We might be able to combine your antique lamps and clocks, metal gates, and other various implements/themes.
21-How much motion do you want for your TreeBedTM? The amount of swing your TreeBedTM will have may be customized to some extent.
22-Wiring for Electricity and/or Sound? We can wire the TreeBedTM for you if we know what type of wiring you desire and how/where you would like it to be distributed.
23-Mounts for Light(s), Speaker(s), and/or Monitor/HD Screen(s)? We will need to know a description of the elements you want mounted on your TreeBedTM. What is the individual weight of the elements, what type of input/output location do they have (front, back, side, top....), and how many/how long are the cables? Please be aware that the TreeBedTM will be modified for this extra ability and may require us to build parts to hide/secure the wiring.
24-How do TreeBedsTM inspire you?
What ideas do you get when considering owning a TreeBedTM?
25-Have you seen a TreeBedTM in person?
25a-Did you try out the TreeBedTM?
25b-What was your impression of the TreeBedTM you saw?
26-Shipping? Your location in-state (Tennessee) or out-of-state/country, the estimated mileage between Middle Tennessee and future destination of your TreeBedTM, import/export tax, and any other shipping specifications are very important facts to know. To install a TreeBedTM is somewhere between buying a pool table and building a swimming pool. The more information we have, the easier of a process it will be for you to receive your TreeBedTM.
27-Is renting a TreeBedTM a possibility? Yes, for one year at a time, rental prices are based on existing chosen models and what fits your needs. Please see our rentals page for more information.
28-Insurance?

We replace naturally occurring problems, such as greater than average checking, (called “faulting”), and stripped/faulty bolts or pegs, ONLY if we receive proper notification in the form of a telephone call or email to Micah McCool. The TreeBedsTM can take some stress but not an overbearing amount like 5 or 6 people jumping at the same time. Although whole families of 4-6 people (adults or children) ARE SAFE sitting together on a TreeBedTM, NO MORE THAN SIX (6) PEOPLE (children or adults) should be on the bed at any time to insure the safety and durability of the TreeBedTM and its enthusists.

29-Payment methods? Checks, cash, financing through a bank, and bartering possibilities exist. We require a 50% deposit to begin building or shipping your TreeBedTM, unless we have arranged a written agreement with you for a different payment schedule. We will collect the remainder of the sum upon delivery to begin installation, unless otherwise stated in the written agreement.
30-Have we left out anything? Please use this time to ask us any questions you still have about the TreeBedTM world. We will do our best to satisfy your curiosity.
31-Take-down Walk-throughs for those who cannot have us move the TreeBedTM for you... We require, for insurance reasons, that you call or email us (mccool@treebeds.com) to set up an appointment to disassemble/move your TreeBedTM. Our hours are flexible. Be prepared to have a team of at least six (6) people and a telephone. Please note that we cannot guarantee the safety or durability of a TreeBedTM that is being moved by someone other than our own team, and we can only replace naturally occurring problems. DO NOT attempt to disassemble or move a TreeBedTM alone! These TreeBedsTM can be crushingly large!
32- 24-hour Emergency (411) Take-down Walk-throughs You must be prepared to have at least six free hands (two people) and a telephone (held by a third person). Please note that we cannot guarantee the safety or durability of a TreeBedTM that is being moved by someone other than our own team, and we can only replace commonly occurring problems. DO NOT attempt to disassemble or move a TreeBedTM alone! These TreeBedsTM can be crushingly large!
